Mary Melessa Komer

John was rebaptized in the West Jordan Ward on 19 August 1854. His wife, Mary Melessa, was rebaptized in the same ward on 9 July 1854. Mary Melessa's rebaptism date was prior to any other organized companies reaching the Salt Lake Valley that year. This indicates that they came to Utah in 1853 or traveled with an independent group in 1854. More research is needed to determine with which company they traveled. 

Mary is listed as "Malissa" on rebaptism records.
