Mary Thornton
Mary and her daughter, Mary Ann, emigrated to the U.S. circa 1840. It appears that Mary left her first husband, Joseph Ayres, at about that time. Joseph emigrated to the U.S. in 1853. She married Joseph Willis in 1843 in Ohio. They divorced in Utah in 1854. About 10 months after the death of her first husband in 1856, she was sealed to him. Even after her divorce, she continued using the surname "Willis," which is the name used in her obituary.
