Matilda Ann Turpin
The Turpin family was at Fort Leavenworth preparing to travel to Utah when Jesse Turpin, husband and father, died of cholera. Eliza Ann, the mother, and the children must have made the journey in 1854 or 1855 because mother remarried at Salt Lake City in February 1856. Futher research is needed.
Another trip to the East was made with step-father, Peter Van Valkenburg. They returned with the Brunson company in 1862.
