Mehetable Thornton
The family's travel to Utah is mentioned in his mother's obituary.
In 1847 Mehetable was living in the Mill Branch, Pottawattamie County, Iowa. She was still in Pottawattamie County at the time of the 1850 federal census. On 2 November 1851 she was re-baptized at Salt Lake City; she married Nelson Stoyell Hollingshead this same year. At the time of the 1856 Utah Territorial census she was living at Parowan, Iron County, Utah and was still there in 1860, 1870 and 1880. In the 1870 census her given name is spelled "Mchelabet." According to her Find A Grave memorial her nickname was "Hela" but in a biographical sketch found in Family Tree it is "Hetta."
