Milton Dailey
Evidence from genealogical records proves that Milton and Sara Jane Dailey traveled to Utah in 1850. They were married in April in Missouri and the birth of their first child occurred in February 1851, which was prior to the arrival of that season's emigration. Further research is needed to determine the name of the company they traveled with.
A secondary source states that the family traveled to Utah with the 1850 Slaughter and Cavett Company, but we have not been able to confirm this information.
Traveling in the same company in 1850 were John Burns, his wife Lydia Ann Porter Burns and their infant son James Christopher Burns. According to Milton Dailey's autobiography, both of the parents died of cholera, so Milton and his wife cared for the child and brought him to Lehi, Utah to his grandparents, James Porter and his wife.
In 1856 Milton served as one of the rescuers of those who were stranded on the plains.
