Nelson Wheeler Whipple
The Journal History and Pioneers and Prominent men both indicate that Nelson came to the Valley in 1848. However, his own reminiscences indicate he traveled in 1850 and even infer that 1850 was his first trip: "... on the 9 day of June 1850: we Set out for the Grate Salt Lake Valy the place We had long desired to See."
