Niels [unknown]

Niels was the step-son of Capt. Christofferson and was about sixteen or seventeen years old at the time of the freight train's travel. Research does not indicate his last name. Since he was a step-son he would not have the same name as his stepfather.  According to Breinholt's account, Neils drowned in the Green River in 1866 during an attempt to recover goods the freight train had left behind at Fort Bridger.
