Peter Christian Klemgaard

Evidence from emigration and genealogical records proves that Peter traveled to Utah in 1856 or 1857. He sailed to America on the John J. Boyd in 1855, and his wife died on board the ship in January 1856. The first documentation to place him in Utah is his marriage in Salt Lake City 26 July 1858, which was prior to the arrival of that season's emigration. Further research is needed to confirm the year he came to Utah and the name of the company he traveled with.
