Son of Peter Burgess and Mary Alice Rostron.  He was born at St. Louis, Missouri then traveled with his parents and siblings to Utah in 1864 but when his father died early in 1865 the family returned to St. Louis.  Peter H. Burgess is buried in Oklahoma.
