Captain of Ten; from Oster Marie, Bornholm, Denmark

The family sailed to America in 1853 on the ship Forest Monarch, and his given name is listed as "Peder" on the ship manifest.

"Peter Madson" [Madsen] divorced Mary Larsen at Fort Ephraim, Utah on 13 September 1858.  In his autobiography which appears in the "Memories" section of his FamilySearch record, he says, "I married a girl, but she did it more of fright than of love, for that reason it could not last only about nine months then she was divorced in 1858."  Further research is needed to determine Mary's full identity, the year she arrived in Utah, and the name of the pioneer company with which she traveled.  She has been included on this pioneer website in the 1847-1858 Unknown Companies list.
