Rachel Gibbs arrived in New York on 6 July 1866 via the ship Arkwright. According to a secondary history, she was placed in the care of William and Jane Williams for the duration of the journey. The notation of extra food rations by William on company records confirm there were others traveling with him other than his family. The British Mission Record (found on Mormon Migration) lists her close to the Williams family.
Further research is needed to identify exactly who this young girl was.
