Rasmus crossed the Atlantic on the ship B. S. Kimball in 1863.  According to his obituary he drove "stock" across the plains for Thomas Taylor in 1865.  In the 1870 Utah census he is in South Cottonwood (Ancestry has misread his given name as "Crastus.")
