Richard Alderton

Richard crossed the Atlantic on the ship Ellen Maria in 1853 with his wife Ann and their two children: George R. and Charlotte.  All of them are listed on the original roster of the Cyrus Wheelock Company in the sub-division led by Captain Kendall but Richard does not appear in the Salt Lake Stake record of members nor does he appear in the 1856 Utah census although his son George is in the Salt Lake 11th ward--the only Alderton in the entire census.  This suggests that Richard may not have reached Utah.
