Robert Lathrop
The family sailed to America in 1868 on the ship Colorado. Robert's widowed sister, Jane Lane traveled to Utah with him.
Evidence from emigration and biographical records proves that they traveled to Utah in 1868. They may have traveled in the 1868 Simpson M. Molen Company, but there is no roster for that company, so further research is needed to confirm the name of the company with which they traveled to Utah.
His birth year is shown as 1817 in the 1851 and 1861 England census records. His name appears in the 1870 Utah census with his daughter Elizabeth, and show his birth year as 1813. The 1880 Utah census shows his birth year as 1816. His obituary does not give the year of his birth. bit the inscription on his gravestone shows his birth date as 20 September 1810. Further research is needed to determine the correct date of his birth. We are showing the date given in FamilySearch.
