Robert Monroe
Evidence from emigration and genealogical records proves that the Monroe family traveled to Utah sometime in 1854 or 1855. The 1854 Golconda ship manifest lists their surname as "Munroe." The first documentation to place them in Utah is the birth of a child 24 December 1855. They may have traveled with the 1854 Daniel Garn Company, but further research is needed to confirm the year they came to Utah and the name of the company they traveled with.Robert is the son of George and his first wife, Elizabeth Morris, who died in Wales in 1851.
