The obituary of William Freemont Sawyer states that the family came to Utah when he was five years old. His 5th birthday was 7 December 1860, so it is likely that the family came to Utah in 1861. The first evidence of their arrival in Utah is a church ordinance performed for his parents on 4 October 1862. Further research is needed to confirm the year they came to Utah and the name of the company they traveled with.
