Rufus Putnam Stewart, Sr.
Rufus, his wife, and children are seen on the 1850 Iowa census, enumerated 12 September 1850. The family is next documented in the Utah Stake City ward by a rebaptism of both parents and son Philander on 15 April 1852. This was prior to that year's emigration season so the family must have traveled to the Valley in 1851.
