Additional Notes

Mission newsletter spotlights that the first Mormon Sunday School held in Riverside, California was on January 16, 1921  with 32 people attending.  Elder George R. Schmidt(Smith) had labored energetically since his arrival in the mission field and was companion to Elder Keetch (Calimis 1:4). Week of June 27, 1921- Elders Schmidt & Keetch are so busy that they often have to split up. This week they besides working in Riverside they have also labored in El Monte,  Ontario, Clairmont, Pomona, and San Bernadino. In Riverside on Sunday, Elder Schmidt had a street meeting that lasted for over 2 hours.  The police estimated the crowd to be between 12 and 13 hundred as it blocked all traffic.  Elder Schmidt  stated 'it was the power of God that was there and all honor is his' (Calimis 12:1,5). Aug.1, 1921-Announced  that Elder Cheney will be the future managing editor of the Calimis, the California Mission by-monthly newsletter (Calimis 14:2).
