Samuel Dixon Mitton
He is the son of Harriet Mitton and appears with the family on the 1857 George Washington ship manifest as Samuel Milton. His name appears as Samuel Dixon Shill on the 1860 Utah Census and his gravestone.
According to the obituary of Samuel Crowther Brown, Samuel and his father came to America earlier than his mother and siblings so that they could earn enough money to bring the rest of the family to America. His father died before the family came to Utah with the 1859 James S. Brown pioneer company.
