Samuel Henry Hodgkinson
Evidence from emigration and census records proves that the Hodgkinson family traveled to Utah in 1849. Samuel's name appears in the records of the Utah Territorial Militia at Cottonwood, Salt Lake County in 1851 and at Box Elder County, Utah in 1857. At the time of the 1856 Utah Territorial Census Samuel was already living in Box Elder County. Further research is needed to identify the name of the pioneer company with which the family crossed the plains.
