William and his wife were rebaptized in Salt Lake City on 12 February 1848, which proves that the family arrived in Utah in 1847. At that time they were living in the Salt Lake City 10th Ward. Further research is needed to determine the name of the pioneer company with which they traveled to Utah.
The 1850 Utah census shows Sarah as being born in Tennessee. She was 20 years old at the time of the census.
