She and her children, Pehr and Johanna, arrived in New York on 3 June 1864 via the ship Monarch of The Sea. All three are listed under the surname of "Ragnar" on ship passenger lists and company rosters, but once they reach the valley, in Lehi Ward records, for example, her children's surnames are recorded as "Erickson." Perhaps "Ragnar" is the name of a step-father that did not follow them to the valley. Birth date is confirmed by Lehi Ward records at the time of a rebaptism performed on 8 December 1864.
She later married John Barrett (21 August 1865), according to Lehi Ward records. At that time, her surname was listed as "Ragnall."
