She is the daughter of James and Agnes. No extant records support the notion that she was born in Nebraska and she does not appear on original records for the Willard Richards family. 

Though she did travel to California with her parents in 1849 and probably returned to Utah with her brothers sometime between 1855 and 1858. She was in Utah by 1865.
