Sarah Middleton

Sarah and Owen sailed to America in 1845 on the ship Palmyra.  The 1850 Iowa census was taken on 19 September 1850, and their son John Middleton Dinsdale was born in 1852 in Ogden, Utah.  This confirms their arrival in Utah in 1851 or 1852.  Further research is needed to determine the year of their arrival in Utah and the name of the pioneer company with which they traveled.

By 1863 the family had moved to California, where they remained.

The inscription on her gravestone in California shows her age at the time of her death was 54 years.  This would make her birth year about 1819.
