The 1 Feb. 1852 marriage of Eli Baxter Hamilton to Sarah Orton was announced in the Frontier Guardian, a newspaper published at Kanesville, Pottawattamie County, Iowa, on 20 Feb. Sarah probably accompanied her new husband to Utah that same year; but it appears the marriage did not last for she later married Silas Smith at Salt Lake City.
