She sailed to America with her mother and brother Rasmus Ove Rasmussen in 1868 on the ship Emerald Isle, arriving in New York on 14 August 1868.

The obituary of her brother said that he came to Utah at age 12, but he would have had his 13th birthday before the ship departed from England. 

Further research is needed to determine the name of the pioneer company with which they traveled to Utah.
