Sheldon married Sarah (Sally) Wight at Kanesville, Iowa 10 Feb. 1850, but they appear under the surname "Cirker" in Ancestry's index to the 1850 Utah census which was taken early in 1851. A son was born to them 21 February 1851, at West Jordan, Utah. Both Sheldon and Sally were re-baptized in the Salt Lake Valley 22 June 1851. The Salt Lake Stake record of their re-baptism shows Sheldon as "Shelton" Cutler but his wife as Sally "Wight."
