Sidney Rigdon Carter

Although documentation is lacking, it is likely that Dominicus Carter brought all his wives and children with him to Utah in 1851. Sidney is the son of Dominicus and Lydia Smith (who died in 1838.)  The first documentation to place Sidney in the Utah is his re-baptism in the "Utah Stake City Ward" on 30 December 1851.  He enrolled in the Utah Territorial Militia at Provo on 4 September 1852 and appears in the 1856 Utah census at the same place.
