Evidence from emigration and church (Perpetual Emigrating Fund) records proves the Petersen family traveled to Utah in 1863. Soren is listed as Soren Petersen Dalsgaard on the 1863 B. S. Kimball ship manifest. The inscription on his gravestone shows his name as Soren Pedarsen.
The family came on the B. S. Kimball in1863. They consisted of: father, Soren, Mother Ane Margrethe and children: Baltzar, Peter, Mette and Ane.
