Journal History - May 29 and June 15, 1843 Stephen Joseph Abbott was called to this mission, but died before he started it, following a bout with pneumonia while he was gathering lumber to help support his family in his absence.

This was a temporal mission to gather funds to build the Nauvoo Temple, from a story at Family Tree by Joanne Hyde. Also words of son Myron Abbott, in 1843 my father was called on a mission to the Southern States. Also wife Abigail Smith states in her record that her husband's unfulfilled mission to Wisconsin was his 2nd mission.
