Stephen Kelsey
Stephen traveled to the Salt Lake Valley in the Brigham Young Pioneer Company in 1847 and was part of the 8th Company of Ten led by Seth Taft. That same season, he returned to Winter Quarters, with many others, to assist other members of the Church make the trip in 1848. That year he traveled in the Brigham Young Company as well.
Stephen was not an official member of the Church at the time he traveled with the vanguard company in 1847. However, he did join the Church a few weeks after reaching the Salt Lake Valley. He was baptized by Tarlton Lewis and confirmed by Wilford Woodruff on 8 August 1847 in the Salt Lake Valley.
