Susanna Bayliss
31 May 1812 – 17 April 1891. Born in Leigh, Worcestershire, England. Daughter of John Baylis and Ann South. She was a member of the United Brethren or Moravian Church in Preston, Lancashire, England. About 1840, Willard Richards, Brigham Young, Wilford Woodruff and Heber C. Kimball had tremendous missionary success, baptizing nearly the entire United Brethren congregation around the Preston area. Susanna was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in April 1840. She immigrates to the United States in 1844 on the ship "Little Maid of Iowa". Married and sealed to Willard Richards on 22 December 1847, as his nineth wife at Winter Quarters, Nebraska Territory. They travel west with the Willard Richards Company, arriving in the Salt Lake Valley in October 1848. Willard Richards dies on 11 March 1854 in Salt Lake City. Susanna marries Franklin Dewey Richards on 6 March 1857 in Salt Lake City. Franklin D. Richards is the nephew of Willard Richards. Died on 17 April 1891 in Farmington, Davis, Utah, United States age the age of 77. Her birth and death dates are confirmed by the inscription on her gravestone, which shows her name as "Susan B. Richards."
