Susan Field
Susan Field Alder was born in Morin Lane Chiltnam, England. Her father died when she was eight years old and she was sent to an orphanage to live. While at the orphanage her mother joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. When her mother decides to immigrate to the United States, she takes Susan out of the orphanage and they leave from Liverpool, England in 1844 to Nauvoo. Susan's mother decides to open a bakery in St. Louis and it is here she marries her husband, Alfred Alder on 26 March, 1848. In 1853, the Alder family travels with the Claudius V. Spencer Company, arriving in Salt Lake City in 1853. She is the mother of 12 children.
