Thomas James Brown

Son of Mary Arey Brown Babbitt.  He was with her in the 1850 census of Pottawattamie County, Iowa.  His obituary of 1905 incorrectly says he had lived in Utah for 48 years implying that he arrived in 1857; but he purchased land in Salt Lake City in 1853 and appears on a  City tax list in 1855.  Additional research is needed to identify the year he crossed the plains and the name of the pioneer company with which he traveled.
