Thomas Rees Davies

Thomas Rees Davies and his wife Margaret Jones Davies sailed to America in 1854 on the ship Golconda.  The first documentation to place him in Utah is his marriage to Sarah Jones on 9 March 1858. This places him in Utah by 1857. FamilySearch shows that his wife Margaret Jones died in  Wales on 13 March 1857. We have not been able to confirm that she ever arrived in Utah, or if her death occurred in Wales, but she was definitely on the ship with Thomas and arrived in New Orleans on 18 March 1854.  Further research is needed to determine the year of Thomas' arrival in Utah, whether or not his wife Margaret came to Utah, and the name of the pioneer company with which they traveled.
