Thomas Woolsey

After detaching with the Mormon Battalion to Pueblo, Thomas Woosley and John Tippets returned to Winter Quarters to receive further instruction. This is confirmed in John Tippets' journal. This accounts for their ability to be part of both the Mormon Battalion and the Brigham Young Vanguard Company.
