The Cresswells, Eliza, and her parents, William and Sarah Woolley, traveled on board the “Cynosure” from Liverpool to New York on 30 May 1863, and landed on 19 July.  Eliza's future husband, Edward Cliff, also traveled on the "Cynosure" as a returning missionary.

Birth and death dates are confirmed by his burial records and Find A Grave website. Their surname is spelled "Creswell" on the 1863 ship Cynosure.

Further research is needed to determine which company they traveled with.  However, evidence from emigration and Perpetual Emigrating Fund records proves Edward and the Cresswells traveled to Utah in 1863.
