William Dudley Haywood

William arrived in Utah sometime before his marriage to Henreitt Martha Legg, purportedly in January 1866. However, a William Haywood appears in the records of the Perpetual Emigrating Fund in October of that same year. Additional research is needed to determine the exact year and, if possible, the name of the pioneer company with which he traveled. His death date is calculated from a statement made by his son "Big Bill" Haywood about the one time he remembered seeing his father, which was apparently shortly before William Sr.’s death.
