This William "Greer" who was born at "Johnson," [Johnstone] Renfrewshire, Scotland on 18 March 1834 and who was rebaptized at West Jordan, Utah on 28 May 1853 (making him 19 years old at rebaptism) is probably the same individual as the 18 year-old William "Creer" who crossed the Atlantic alone on the ship Camillis in 1853. Additional research is needed to identify the name of the pioneer company with which he crossed the plains.
