William Holgate, Jr.

William arrived in New York on 23 June 1864 via the ship The General McClellan with his father and siblings. He does not appear in the Warren Company records with the rest of his family. It is likely that he hired out with the Warren Company or another company that year as a teamster to help pay his passage. However, further research is needed to confirm this. First documentation to place him in Utah is the 1870 census where he is seen living next door to his father in Beaver County.
