William Hyrum Smith Rice

William's father came to Utah alone in 1847.  Apparently William came to Utah between 1851 and 1855.  He appears on the 1850 Illinois census.  The first documentation to place him in Utah is the 1856 Utah census, taken in February 1856, which was prior to the arrival of that season's emigration. Further research is needed to determine the year he came to Utah and the name of the company he traveled with.  FamilySearch lists his mother as dying in Iowa about 1847.
