William Joseph Saxey

The Saxey family arrived in New Orleans on 18 March 1854 via the ship Golconda. The birth of another child (Emily) in Salt Lake (as confirmed by her 1871 and 1911 England census record entries) and the PEF entry dated 1 January 1855, confirm that they continued on to the Valley that same emigration season. They likely traveled along with William's brother, John Saxey, and his family.

They stayed in the area for only a short time before returning to England. Further research is needed to identify the name of the company they traveled with.
