William McMillan
Evidence from Church records (Perpetual Emigrating Fund), emigration, and genealogical records proves that the McMillan family traveled to Utah in 1861 or 1862. They sailed to America in 1861 and took out a PEF loan in 1861, but the first documentation to place them in Utah is the birth of a child in Utah on 20 December 1862. Further research is needed to confirm the year they came to Utah and the name of the company they traveled with. His family was on the ship with his brothers William and John. We know that Neal came to Utah in 1861, and William may have traveled with his family. We have not been able to find documentation that their brother John came to Utah. He died in San Francisco, California.
