William Myron Bemus
The Manti South Ward record of members indicates that William was received into that ward in 1858 from Illinois. His parents came the previous year. At the time of the 1860 federal census William was living in the Manti City household of Robert and Harriet A. Brathwaite (William's surname is spelled "Beamas.") His name appears in the records of the Utah Territorial Militia beginning in May of 1865. He paid tithing in Manti in 1866. He is buried in Manti. Further research is needed to identify the name of the company with which he crossed the plains.
