William Pickett, Sr.
William Pickett's family came to Utah with a California-bound company under the direction of a Captain Morris from Fort Leavenworth. His wife and children remained in Salt Lake City while William went on to California to take part in the gold rush. He returned to Utah in the fall of 1851 and took his family to California. His family is listed on the 1850 Utah census enumerated in spring 1851.
