According to his mission report, his 1843 mission was preceded by this other mission in the winter of 1842. His journal mentions baptizing Coleman Boren in Tennessee on 3 January 1840. Mission was possibly earlier.
Sent to Tennessee. See his mission report. Elders were sent forth into the vineyard to build up churches. Some were sent to places they were familiar with. They were sent from Nauvoo, Illinois and admonished to care first for their families.
