Early Church Mission: Asia

Founded
1839

The first attempt to send missionaries into the continent was in 1839 when a missionary was called, but the mission not fulfilled. It was in the early 1850s when Brigham Young opened, short-lived, missions in Asia. Missionaries were sent to Hong Kong, India, and Siam (modern day Thailand).

This mission organization is meant to account for those who served missions in Asia, but not part of an officially organized mission.
