Missionaries often set out to preach the gospel in Europe, but before an official mission was organized. Areas included Germany, Netherlands and Belgium. Some missionaries were called to Russia (1843) and France (1844) but did not fulfill their missions.
The first official mission in Europe was the British Mission established in 1837. Official missions in Europe began to be organized from 1850 onwards.
