After the Church was organized 6 April 1830, the prophet Joseph Smith called his brother, Samuel Smith, to become the first missionary for the Church. Later in 1830, Joseph began calling several members of the Church to serve as missionaries. These individuals were not a part of official missions, instead serving in various locations for varied amounts of time.
This organization will also include early missionaries to Canada and Mexico.
