Organized on 8 October 1925 after successful letters from Wilhelm Freidrichs whom had asked for the Church to send missionaries to Buenos Aires. The first missionaries arrived 6 December 1925. Led by Elder Melvin J. Ballard they began missionary work in South America.
Renamed the Argentine Mission in May 1935 when the Brazilian Mission was created.
